Presentation

Tuesday, October 2nd / 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm

Creating a High Performance E-Commerce Channel: How to Build it so they Will Come

Presented by Dean Mueller, partner at Real Results Marketing and Contributing Researcher/Writer for Modern Distribution Management magazine. The presence of affordable e-commerce solutions combined with a younger customer demographic has driven significant investment from distributors in digital and e-commerce technologies. While many distributors have built these offerings, the customers are not necessarily coming. Indeed, many distributors are stuck with limited revenue coming from this promising new channel. At the same time, there are an increasing percentage of distributors who have created  high performance e-commerce channels, now delivering 10% and sometimes more than 20% total revenue. Those who have created a high performance e-commerce offering exhibit distinct characteristics and practices that can be emulated by others.

Attend this presentation to learn:

  • How customers want to shop separately from how they want to buy based on research with 8,000 end users.
  • The role of field sales and inside sales in driving e-commerce revenue.
  • Practices and patterns within the buying group members’ e-commerce and how it compares to the broader distribution segment.
  • And best practices to compress time-to-value in creating a high performance e-commerce channel.

Contributing Researcher and Writer, MDM Magazine
